Invited to participate in the 46th edition of La Fira d’Arts de Carrer de Tàrrega, Penique productions presents Entre la pell i la màscara inside the 18th-century Baroque church of La Mercè.

A pale yellow inflatable structure covers the central nave of the building, muting its polychrome decoration and religious iconography while unifying the space through texture and colour. Two lamps frame the altarpiece behind the altar and illuminate the inflatable from within. At the same time, the lanterns in the side galleries and the natural light illuminate it from the outside. The Baroque forms of the architecture are concealed yet remain recognisable, enhanced by the interplay of light and changing shadows as the day progresses.

Entre la pell i la màscara, a title inspired by the writings of Frantz Fanon, proposes a reflection on identity, origin and tradition, inviting us to think about images and ways of doing things.
