Turbo Banja
Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina
28 – 30 August 2025
11 x 19 x 7,5 m
After several years of conversations with the Street Art Festival Mostar organization, we were finally able to take part in its 14th edition. For the occasion, we understood how important it was to find a location in the city center—a meeting point near the river that, after the war, divides the city in two. With this in mind, we chose the pool of the city’s public bathhouse. A beautiful historic and emblematic building restored after the war but still closed to the public and left to exponential decay. Thanks to a Herculean effort by the organization to obtain permission, the site was opened so the work Turbo Banja could be created. A pool-tile-blue inflatable completely covers the entire hall while leaving the pool itself open for use. An open proposal—an invitation to swim in the hot Bosnian summer, to have fun and play in the historic public pool, as before. A pool, a square, a transformed place inviting people to inhabit the city center and coexist in the public space which, as Richard Sennett says, is where strangers meet.
